Guards of Honor 1st Friday / January 2023 Fr. David Bellusci, OP
We enter the New Year and the Heart of Jesus continues to beat for us. What does this mean? The Birth of Our Lord in - Bethlehem, His Sacrifice for us on Calvary and His Resurrection constitute one salvific act by One person, the Second Person of the Trinity. As we kneel before the Cross, when we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, when we make reparation for sins and indifferences, we make them for the Sacred Heart, this same Heart that constitutes to draw us, cleanse us, and save us. We adore the face of Jesus that Mary contemplates at Bethlehem; we experience the effects of that one act on the Cross where Jesus sheds His Blood for us at Calvary. Can we ever cease to be amazed with this love that God show us? We can only remain in awe, like the Angels in Shepherds field as they approached the birth of the Saviour, illuminated by the Star of Bethlehem. Yes, before Jesus, we can only kneel in thanksgiving and adoration, "My Lord and My God."
Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year!

Divine Jesus, my Saviour and my King, with all my heart I renew the promise which I have made to love, to glorify and to console Your adorable Heart as a member of the Guard of Honor. Grant O good Master, to make me daily more loving, more devoted and more faithful. I ask this same grace for all the Associates through the most sweet Heart of Your Mother. AMEN
