Guards of Honor 1st Friday / November 2022 Fr. David Bellusci, OP
St. Margaret Mary Alacoque writes from Paray-le-Monial in 1683 that true happiness of the soul is to conform to the will of God. St. Margaret Mary continues, "it is in this that our heart finds its peace, our soul its joy and repose." The reality of clinging to God is to be made one in spirit with him. This union between clinging to God and being one in spirit with God is prevalent among the writing of the Saints: attachment to God is to be one in spirit with him. God is pleased with the soul that does not display resistance to his divine will and God will make such souls happy. For St. Margaret Mary the opposite is also true: for those who resist God's will, things never go right. He looks on them without compassion and his Sacred Heart does not respond to their needs. At the end, God wants us to find all our pleasures in Him alone and in return God will give us all that our heart desires.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, let my will be one with yours. Amen.
Prayer to Renew Our Fidelity and Devotion
Divine Jesus, my Saviour and my King, with all my heart I renew the promise which I have made to love, to glorify and to console Your adorable Heart as a member of the Guard of Honor. Grant O good Master, to make me daily more loving, more devoted and more faithful. I ask this same grace for all the Associates through the most sweet Heart of Your Mother. AMEN
